An honest analysis of one’s life reveals a clear truth: that suffering often stems from a lack of control over one’s will and emotions. Loneliness, endless worry, nagging, insecurities, and stagnancy are all consequences of your choices and actions.
You exhaust yourself trying to appease the body’s ever-demanding desires, ensnared by its unrelenting pursuit of pleasure and gratification. Then the mind berates you for failing to assert control over them. In contrast, a self-mastered man liberates himself from the clutches of biology. He transmutes his sexual energy into vitality and positivity. Through self-mastery, he attains the power to command the body, mind, and spirit, to the point where the Universe itself bows to his will.
Every sane person feels an unexplainable urge to leave a legacy and transcend their limitations. The mind feeds on entertainment, the body on calories, and the Soul thrives on purpose. As long as your soul hungers for purpose, no amount of worldly pleasure will give you lasting happiness. Self-mastery is itself the gateway to fulfillment.
Every man must embark on a hero’s journey to discover himself and fulfill his divine purpose. This expedition is not for the faint-hearted. Those who undertake it are bound to hit rock bottom and pick themselves back up countless times for survival. Neglecting this quest eats away at your very soul.
Self-mastery ensures you leave this world with a knowing smile, having conquered life’s challenges. Those who deny their soul’s yearnings die full of regret. Heaven does not admit unfulfilled souls. It is a sanctuary for those who have triumphed. A realm where self-mastery is celebrated.
The 5 Stages of Self-Mastery
“Show me a man who is not a slave; one is a slave to lust, another to greed, another to ambition, and all men are slaves to fear.”
1. MASTERY OVER ENERGY
The body has a mind of its own. It is compelled by genetic codes and survival instincts to constantly seek food, sleep, and sex. Transcending these urges is not an easy feat by any measure.
Food: Obesity is one of the greatest epidemics of the modern world. Food is no longer a biological need. It has become a primal addiction. Sugar has hijacked the minds and taste buds of the vast majority of the population. Fasting is a test of self-mastery over food. Dedicate 1–3 days every week for water fasts, intermittent fasts, or a complete marathon.
Sleep: Sleep is essential for survival. It repairs the body and rejuvenates the mind. You will die from a lack of sleep faster than you will die from dehydration. Approach sleep as an art. A fine balance between oversleeping and undersleeping is crucial. Figure out your circadian rhythm and stick to it.
Sex: The average man has sexual fantasies once every 30 minutes. Sex is the most potent drive for success and survival. Yes. Everything a man does is a direct or indirect quest for sex. Take away the possibility of sex and most men will become apathetic. The ordinary man is a slave to this powerful urge. But a self-mastered man controls and redirects the energy towards his personal ambitions.
The body should be trained in stillness and movement to unlock its full potential. Be the type of person that can exercise intensely for one hour, and sit still in silence for the next hour.
Stillness training: Yin yoga, holotropic breathwork, and Zazen (sitting meditation).
Movement training: Primal movements, weightlifting, calisthenics, or cardio.
Pick one or two from each category and practice every day. You will observe miraculous changes happening at the cellular levels of your body.
2. MASTERY OVER MIND
“You have power over your mind, not external circumstances. Realize this and you will find strength.”
The mind is the server that simulates your reality. The average person sleepwalks through life — puppeteered by the unconscious mind. The unconscious mind is vulnerable to intrusive thoughts. These thoughts perpetuate your negative identities and vices. The conscious mind is your imagination — a powerful force that can shape your desired reality. The superconscious mind is your Awareness — the door to your Divine Self.
Mastery of the mind begins with deep introspection. Self-examination fosters self-knowledge, enabling you to understand the trickery of your mind. The mind has various facets. You must understand, manage, and maximize them for your full actualization.
Thoughts: Develop the power to choose the thoughts you allow to wander in your psyche. This requires keen mental alertness and attentiveness. Observe every thought as it arises and dissipates. Observe your thoughts every single moment of your waking hours. As soon as you identify a detrimental thought train, disengage from it immediately. Redirect your attention to your breath and ground yourself in the present moment.
Conscience: Conscience, in essence, is a societal bug that enforces compliance and docility. A self-mastered man lives through his expansive consciousness, not his fragmentary conscience. Guilt and shame are fetters. They keep the spirit from ascending into 7D consciousness. Exploring and expanding your consciousness is the only way to shatter these chains. Dedicate your heart to wisdom. Live with intense awareness, and abide by your personal values.
Thoughts: Develop the power to choose the thoughts you allow to wander in your psyche. This requires keen mental alertness and attentiveness. Observe every thought as it arises and dissipates. Monitor your thoughts every single moment of your waking hours. As soon as you identify a detrimental thought train, disengage from it immediately. Redirect your attention to your breath until you are recentered in your being.
3. MASTERY OVER ENERGY
Energy is the essence of life. Scientists assert that it can neither be created nor destroyed. It can, however, be converted from one form to another. Sexual energy can be transmuted into emotional energy, physical energy, or creative energy. Naturally, energy tends to flow from a higher intensity to a lower one. However, the flow pattern of energy can be reversed by unlocking the higher chakras. There are 7 primary chakras in the body. Your active and dormant chakras reflect what consumes the most of your energy.
An overactive root chakra manifests as an obsession with food and sleep. Associated addictions include sugar, drugs, and alcohol.
The sacral chakra, when overstimulated, results in an infatuation with pleasures and sexuality. Associated addictions include pornography, video games, and casual sex.
An excessively active solar plexus chakra can lead to a relentless pursuit of hustle and grind. Associated addictions include nicotine, caffeine, gambling, and soda.
An overactive heart chakra might translate into an obsession with romance and creativity. This can lead to social media addictions, neediness, or profound loneliness.
An overactive throat chakra may result in an obsession with proselytizing and dominance.
An active third eye chakra makes you obsessed with peace, truth, and freedom.
Spirituality is the art of raising the intensity and quality of your energy.
4. MASTERY OVER HEART
‘All of humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to sit quietly in a room alone.’
Masculinity does not equate to heartlessness. Only weak men sacrifice their dreams for love. A self-mastered man enjoys love whilst maintaining an unwavering commitment to his ambitions.
The popular trope that isolation is the antidote to “simping” is childish and naive. Love is a natural and beautiful part of the human experience. What is unacceptable is to become needy and distracted. Love can indeed grant strength and inspiration, but neediness is the ultimate weakness.
Never beg for love, and never beg for attention. Loneliness is your mind misinterpreting the profound gift of aloneness. Solitude is an opportunity for self-discovery, shadow integration, skill acquisition, and self-improvement.
Consider this startling fact: Men account for 80% of suicide deaths worldwide. That’s a death every 40 seconds.
Without stoic control over your emotions, you are at risk of losing your sanity in this chaotic world. You need ample levels of emotional maturity to navigate life’s multifaceted challenges without losing composure.
Breaking out of the matrix requires clarity and competence. Become the introverted autodidact. Be extroverted when necessary for networking and social engagement ONLY. Never squander your precious time attending parties and watching movies without purpose. Say NO to activities that don’t align with your dreams. Embrace the solitude that comes with personal growth. It is a small price to pay for freedom.
5. MASTERY OVER SPIRIT

Your body is nothing more than a space suit. The spirit, also known as the inner man (self), is the true essence of your being. A healthy spirit possesses tranquility, equanimity, and indefatigability. The quality of your spirit is your aura — a magnetic field that envelops your physical body. Spirit mastery involves a profound process of reconnection, purification, and integration.
Reconnect to your spirit through meditation, introspection, or communing with nature. Quiet your mind and turn your awareness inward. This creates the space necessary to tap into your spirit’s wisdom.
Purify the Spirit through prayers, rituals, or acts of selflessness. This will cleanse your inner self of negative karma
Integrate your spirit by maintaining pure intentions and self-awareness.
The Three Obstacles to Self-Mastery
“He who cannot obey himself will be commanded. That is the nature of living creatures.”
Loneliness: Isolation is often a deterrent on the path of self-mastery. Never make women your utmost priority. It is a fatal mistake, especially when you are young and broke. Your purpose and mission must be your topmost priorities. Embrace the comfort of solitude; it is a transformative phase.
Boredom: Boredom is the root cause of all addictions and obsessive-compulsive disorders. The conventional approach is to avoid boredom by distracting oneself with pleasures. This only provides temporary relief while intensifying the underlying boredom. The alternative response is to confront it, accept it, and meditate upon it. Meditation trains you to be comfortable with boredom. Which indirectly improves your resistance to distractions and addictions.
Fear: Fear takes various forms. The fear of success, of failure, of death, and many others. Fear dissipates when observed through the lens of Awareness. Never try to suppress your fear. Try to understand it instead. Awareness alchemizes fear into confidence.
Three Pillars of Self-Mastery
Self-Awareness: This is the torch that guides you through the maze of your mind. It is the art of peeling back the layers of your consciousness. All negative thoughts and habits are propagated through unconsciousness. Once you become self-aware, your purpose becomes clear. Your mind becomes composed. Your emotions become balanced. And your energy becomes concentrated.
Self-Discipline: Your life is a work of art. Discipline is the hammer you use to craft yourself into a masterpiece. Discipline is the art of turning your goals into daily rituals. Self-awareness is necessary for discovering your talents. Self-discipline is necessary for mastering them. Your discipline must be stronger than your feelings. Your determination must be stronger than your distractions. Never rely on your mood to get things done. To preserve your willpower, construct routines and systems that automate your growth and consistency.
Self-Sufficiency: Nothing is ever promised tomorrow. This is why self-sufficiency is a reliable anchor for lasting peace. It is the art of detaching your self-worth from external validations. Self-sufficiency is synonymous with independence, not isolation. It is the capacity to find joy in your own company, to derive purpose from within, and to maintain autonomy.
