The truth about finding your purpose.

It's easier than you think...

Show me a man who loves pleasure and I’ll show you a man who lacks purpose.

You are bored and depressed because you don't have a challenging purpose compelling you to get better every day. Your purpose is the light that guides your path. In a world of unlimited distractions, without a definite purpose, you are helplessly lost.

Creation Over Discovery
Fun fact: You don’t 'find' your purpose, you create it. Your true purpose is not a once-in-a-lifetime discovery. It has to be crafted through conscious decisions, actions, and reflections. Purpose emerges from competence, competence comes from confidence, and confidence comes from clarity.

5 years ago I had no purpose.

I did not know what to do with my life.

For some reason, I believed that my purpose would reveal itself in a dramatic display.

I eventually got tired of waiting.

Instead of waiting purpose, I started taking action.

I journaled. I dragged myself to the gym. I learned how to video edit.

I began to figure out the things I'm good at, as well as the things I want from life.

I started writing on social media as a hobby.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would get me over 200,000 followers on the internet!

Now a large part of my purpose is helping 100,000 people make a living through digital writing.

The journey of a thousand miles truly begins with a single step.

This is the framework you can use to discover your purpose.

Self-awareness
Self-actualization begins with self-awareness. Observing and analyzing your thoughts, emotions, and actions is the key to unlocking your life's purpose. Keep asking yourself questions like: What are the recurring thoughts? What triggers certain emotions? How do these emotions drive actions? Are these actions aligned with my aspirations and values? Through consistent self-analysis, patterns emerge, providing insights into your core values, interests, and aspirations. It's from this understanding that a clearer vision of your purpose begins to emerge. Recognizing what resonates deeply within you helps uncover the path toward fulfillment.

Want vs Avoidance
Somewhere in the Gita, it says;

“It is better to live your destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of somebody else's life with perfection.”

Most people create misery because they burden their spirits with endless desires. Choose your desires through self-awareness, not through imitation.

There are two ways to gain clarity of purpose;

  1. Vision: Figure out what you genuinely desire, what inspires you, and what goals align with your authentic self. It's about creating a positive and aspirational vision for your life, embracing desires that resonate with your inner values and aspirations.

  2. Anti-Vision: Figure out what you don't want in life. Analyzing your dislikes, discomforts, or experiences you wish to avoid can be as illuminating as defining your aspirations. By understanding and acknowledging what doesn't align with your values or goals, you gain a clearer perspective on your true desires and priorities.

Self-education:

The most important life-changing skills aren't taught in schools. The future belongs to the self-taught, self-made, self-paid. Develop a skill stack that’s unique to you and relevant to the market. You must become a learning machine.

Learn a skill that can make it possible. Work towards it every day for the next 3 months. All you need to do this is YouTube and discipline.

Get to work.

Stay Mastered.
